Welcome to 536 Zephyr Circle in Danville! This elegantly remodeled home has been expanded and updated with permits using the utmost quality in workmanship and finishes. The home was systematically rebuilt with love and care over a number of years for the owners’ personal enjoyment. Smart design choices were made, with the focus on quality and livability. This is far from your typical tract home or remodeled flip.

Upon arrival, the first thing you will notice is the front facade, gabled roofline and covered seating area. One of the more unique features of this home is the transformational front exterior remodel, designed by Peter Shutts. This beautiful outdoor oasis allows the owners to take full advantage of enjoying this friendly neighborhood in any season from the comfort of their own yard. The roofline of the house was expanded to bump out the front of the house by approximately 20 feet and the new gabled roof section transforms the home’s elevation and presence from the street. The front door was expanded to create an inviting entrance, which was enhanced by the Craftsman style wide hardwood door with detailed glasswork by Simpson Doors. Custom stone veneer by Eldorado Stone and long-life composite siding replaced all the original wood siding to enhance and update the homes look while ensuring longevity and ease of care. The patio hardscape includes beautiful brick steps and a series of small stone fountains to capture that relaxing oasis feel. Craftsman style details on the home’s exterior, including trim and lighting, tie into the overall style of the home. Canister lighting and a remote controlled ceiling fan underneath the portico ensure that the space can be comfortably used both day and night. The final touch was to landscape the entire front yard for both privacy and shade while retaining the inviting nature of the front gathering area. This thoughtful redesign of the front of the home not only sets it apart from the surrounding homes but also transforms the way you live in the home to interact with the great community that surrounds you.

Once inside the home, vaulted ceilings and an abundance of natural light will welcome you. Beautiful maple distressed hardwood floors from the Don Castle Trendy Engineered Collection are carried throughout the main level and family room for seamless flow and a timeless look.

The remodel goes above and beyond and was designed with the idea of creating as much open space as possible. Rather than just bump up the ceiling in the kitchen, the entire upper attic area above the kitchen was removed and the major support beams for the roof were replaced while the house was further retrofitted for enhanced earthquake safety. The removal of walls opened the dining room to both the kitchen area and the living room, as well as to the backyard and inviting patio through gorgeous Anderson French doors. A breakfast bar was added overlooking the family room to provide a casual dining option. The rear wall of the kitchen was opened up and an oversized energy efficient Anderson window was installed to maximize the natural light and further integrate the kitchen with the outdoor space. The result of this ingenious remodel is an open concept that allows for an abundance of light and a perfect flow for entertaining throughout the year.

Kitchen and Bath Gallery of Danville led the redesign of the kitchen with construction by McQueen Construction. The workmanship and materials are all custom and top of the line. The kitchen is anchored by a dramatic farmhouse-style center island. This Shrewsbury model from British Traditions is finished in a celadon premium distressed finish with custom butcher-block top and encloses an in-island microwave drawer. A custom tile backsplash behind the oven and range extends to the full height of the ceiling for a dramatic look. Custom light fixtures include pieces from Tech Lighting’s Aero series and beautiful custom art-deco style glass pendants float over the breakfast bar. Solid cherry cabinets from DeWils are of frameless construction, with dovetail drawers on soft-close glides. The pantry doors flanking the breakfast bar are set with custom obscured glass to further enhance the design. Premium appliances include a Viking 4 burner gas range and oven, Jenn-Air refrigerator, and a Miele dishwasher. A 24 bottle wine refrigerator by U-Line is tastefully built into a serving cabinet strategically located between the dining and living rooms.

The family room was also remodeled with functionality in mind. It features a built-in custom entertainment cabinet and a custom fireplace surround. Cozy up with a good book, or gather around for family movie night. This versatile space is designed to bring your family together.

Upstairs, the master bedroom and bathroom suite were designed and remodeled to enlarge the space and enhance the natural light. Moving a wall and two doorways to create a private bathroom, now fully separated from the bedroom area, expanded the master bedroom. The spacious master bathroom includes a stand-alone oversized corner shower with floor to ceiling Tuscan style tile. The focal point over the tub is a large Anderson tempered window with an obscured glass double glue chip design that lets in an amazing amount of natural light while still retaining perfect privacy. The tub is a LuxeAir 22 by Aquatic Whirlpools and incorporates 7 jets and an air bath system in its extra large 66”x 36”x 25” dimensions. The bath surround deck and the sink tops are cut from a single slab of ¾” Crystal Mahogany Marble. A programmable floor heating system is included to ensure season-to-season comfort. Top of the line Kohler fixtures rounds out the luxurious feel of the master bath retreat. The Cabinetry by Precision Cabinets included soft-close drawers and an amber finish on solid cherry wood. Storage is maximized with matching floor to ceiling cabinetry in the spacious walk-in closet, which itself features detailed touches like movable shoe racks, jewelry drawers, and hanging areas for everything from your best suits to your long evening dresses. The master bedroom amenities are rounded out with custom solid wood shutters, ceiling fan, and recessed dimmable lighting.

Two of the three remaining upstairs bedrooms have been expanded by 40% by bumping out the rear of the home by 4 feet. This resulted in expanding one room to 12’x14’ and 10’x14’ from their original 12’x10’ and 10’x10’ size. The engineering was ingenious, using a cantilevered design that expanded the upstairs while also creating a shady overhang in the backyard. The additional space added to these rooms is noticeable upon entering. The additional room allows for larger beds, desks and expanded play spaces for your growing family. To further enhance their functionality, custom closets were designed with clever space optimizing features that will keep your bedrooms free of clutter!

The upstairs hall bathroom was also remodeled to fully utilize the space. The bathroom features beautiful solid cherry cabinets by Precision Cabinets, Kohler fixtures and a stunning shower with custom tile mosaic that goes perfectly with the marble countertop. Downstairs the powder room and laundry room remodels benefit from tons of storage space, custom cabinetry, and a high-efficiency washer and dryer, which are included in the sale.

The backyard is the cherry on top of this exceptional home. As you move into the backyard from any of the three open doorways, you will find exceptional hardscape and landscaping. Pools by Riviera was commissioned to create the tropical extra-large in-ground spa that anchors the backyard entertaining area. The waterfall tumbles across the well-placed rockwork and invites you into the spa/pool, which is perfectly sized to be both a large hot tub as well as a cold water soaking pool on hot summer days. The premium double-sized pool equipment and heater ensure that the hot tub can be heated up in a very short time frame, and the extra capacity pumps were installed to ensure great water circulation for maximum filtration. There are enough jets to keep the whole family happy and if you want a dozen or more people in the hot tub, there’s room for that, too! Subtle anchor mechanisms are embedded in the rockwork to allow for the custom safety netting that is included for maximum child safety when you aren’t around. The backyard is a shady and inviting place, with two levels of patio for entertaining or relaxing. The upper level, which flows off of the dining room through French doors is covered with the perfect amount of shade under the arbor and is enhanced by lighting and a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights. Make this your outdoor dining space or your second living room. The space is perfect for many uses.

On the rear of the home, nicely hidden from the street, there is a 6.1 kW Solar PV electrical system installed by Solar City/Tesla. The system is perfectly oriented towards the southeast to maximize solar production and keep your energy bills under control. The system has historically generated approximately 10,000 kWh per year since installation in 2010. A dual zone HVAC system further allows for comfort throughout all levels of the home.

Truly a masterpiece, 536 Zephyr was designed and built for the modern family that appreciates quality and enjoys a space geared towards making family memories. Welcome Home!
